After nearly three years in Hollywood, Nick Wood has returned to Santini. Sort of.

Wood, the start-up chef at Santini Bar and Grill, opened the uber-stylish restaurant at the QT Hotel in 2018 to great acclaim, winning a range of awards and securing Perth’s Restaurant of the Year gong after just two years. And now, after nearly three years in Hollywood, he has returned to Santini – sort of.“The Hollywood gig was an opportunity of a lifetime. Each NeueHouse – there were branches in downtown LA, Venice Beach and New York – had about 500 members on their books and, importantly, “serious food and beverage activation,” Wood said. “The kitchens are run differently. They have double the staff because the training and skill levels aren’t as good as in Australia. I was running a team of 30 chefs to do less covers than I was doing at Santini with just 10 chefs.”

“It’s a much better place to live. So, with a young child, we thought it better to come home. It made sense.”
