The turmoil engulfing the NBL's most successful club continues, with Perth Wildcats coach Scott Morrison announcing his resignation to return to North America for 'family reasons'.
"While I loved coaching this team, recent developments lead us as a family to feel that it is in the best interest of our children to be closer to home where a broader and more familiar support system exists," Morrison said in a statement.
"My family and the team have taken great strides to exhaust all options to allow us to comfortably return to Perth, but my wife Susanne and I have made the difficult decision that we feel will most benefit our children." Prior to Morrison's departure, the club had strongly endorsed him to continue in the role, even after missing the playoffs.Under Morrison, the Wildcats failed to make the NBL playoffs for the first time in 35 years.
