A pet treat has been pulled from shelves after a dog fell severely ill, prompting public outcry and raising questions about product safety. Tucker, a four-year-old labrador from the Perth suburb of Kallaroo, became seriously ill on Saturday, January 4, the same day he tried a Bow Wow dog bone treat for the first time. “He’s usually a hyperactive, super-friendly labrador who loves to greet visitors at the house,” Sasha Wadham told 7 NEWS .com.au, describing her sister’s dog.
The post attracted other dog owners who had experienced the same issue, also related to the Bow Wow Prosciutto Bone. Graham, another dog owner, reached out to Wadham, revealing his 12-year-old dog went through the same ordeal last September. The final bill for his dog’s survival amounted to $12,000. Graham also filed complaints with Woolworths and Bow Wow but received only the response, “We’re doing our investigations,” which ultimately led to no further action.
