The Pharmacy Guild of Australia are outraged by the lack of industry consultation prior to a secret agreement between Labor and the Greens proposing the legalisation of over-the-counter sales of vapes without prescriptions.
Pharmacy outrage mounts over lack of industry consultation before a secret agreement between Labor and the Greens proposing legalising over-the-counter sales of vapes.
“We weren't consulted, we weren't asked our views, and we did not ask for this to happen,” he told Sky News Australia. “Legitimising these products on the shelves of pharmacies, and expecting pharmacists to have conversations with patients and people presenting requesting them, without any guidelines of what discussions we're meant to have to establish whether there is a therapeutic need - this is just health policy on the run at its worst," he said.
“This is, I think, a sensible balance between access and serious reform, to return this product to its original intention, which was a therapeutic good. However, Mr Tassone has accused the government of ignoring health experts’ advice as a means of pushing the deal through the Senate.
