BREAKING Philadelphia school employees vote to authorize strike
"We worked through COVID, everyone considered us a hero. Currently in negotiations and no one remembers that," said John Bynum, district leader for Local 32BJ of SEIU. "We are just negotiating for a fair contract. I can't answer for why the district isn't listening."The jobs range from bus drivers, mechanics, cleaners, trade workers and attendants."Our scale is totally down across the board, we're underpaid.
In a news release, union reps said negotiations for new contracts have stalled over fair pay and standardized training programs that workers need to safely do their jobs and keep school students, teachers, and staff safe."We deeply value the work of our staff who are represented by 32BJ SEIU District 1201.
