The Belgian has brought in a raft of new players this summer while several experienced figures have headed for the exit door at Ibrox
Gordon Strachan believes the huge overhaul of players at Rangers this summer is the biggest challenge facing Philippe Clement and reckons the Belgian might have to take a 'few smacks in the face' before he gets the Light Blues firing on all cylinders.
The Gers made a underwhelming start to the new league campaign with a goalless draw against Hearts at Tynecastle last Saturday, with Clement's team selection and tactics coming under fire. Rangers take on Dynamo Kyiv tonight in the first leg of their crucial Champions League third round qualifier in Poland, with the return fixture coming at Hampden next week.
"Football isn’t a complicated game, it’s the outside elements that can sometimes make it seem that way. Clement’s biggest challenge will be dealing with a large turnover of his playing squad. He got off to a really good start. "There’s a lot happening at the football club at the moment. There are things that are happening that will be affecting his ability to concentrate solely on managing his players like the renovations at Ibrox and moving to the national stadium temporarily. He’s dealt with the challenges he’s faced quite well."
