'Zoom in right above President Trump's shoulder and you'll see a bullet flying in the air'
During the former president's campaign rally in Pennsylvania yesterday New York Times photographer Doug Mills captured the moment a bullet flew in the air to Trump's right. Had he moved his head just slightly, it could have led to much more serious injury. This was just moments before further gunfire set off panic, and a bloodied Trump was surrounded by secret service officers.
People rushed to react to the unbelievable image, as one said: "President Trump did a sudden head movement that rotated his head clockwise, this means that the bullet entry point would have hit the back of his skull and killed him instantly had he not." "He's very lucky to be alive," wrote another. Another wrote: "This is the craziest picture I have ever seen." "This is an astonishing photo," another comment read.
"I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realised then what was happening."
