To keep working, I was forced to use my other eye for the roughly 10 weeks of recovery time. I have never used that eye for photos and found myself doing so for the first time. Working that way was awkward initially, but I soon felt as though I was relearning to see. The experience reminded me of learning photography when I started over 35 years ago. I was drawn to purely graphic compositions and tilted my camera using a Dutch angle quite a bit. It was fun to photograph in a new way and a magnificent stairwell inside the Texas Memorial Museum provided a great opportunity to play with my “new” eye and camera.
