They hope the scheme will lead to the creation of 1000 jobs
Photos from the old Imperial Tobacco factory show work being carried out after a £50m deal was struck with a property developer that could lead to the creation of more than 1000 jobs. It will soon be home to high quality industrial and logistics space and is expected to be completed by 2023.
Now, pictures from the site show construction being carried out and the ground being dug up - with cranes and diggers surrounding the area. The building itself won the Financial Times award for industrial architecture in 1973, having been much brighter and organised than the typical industrial factories of the period.
