Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of popular franchise Pirates of the Caribbean, has confirmed the series will be given a new lease on life through a reboot.
The news has divided fans of the pirate adventure franchise, some eagerly anticipating what is to come next in the series and others refusing to watch in the absence of Johnny Depp.
Bruckheimer has announced his team is currently working on a new version of Pirates of the Caribbean, and also on Top Gun 3. However, he mentioned that Top Gun 3 will take longer to develop because the production team needs to coordinate schedules with several A-list actors, including Tom Cruise, Glen Powell and Miles Teller.“Because with Top Gun you have an actor who is iconic and brilliant. And how many movies he does before he does Top Gun, I can’t tell you.
During his high-profile defamation trial in 2022, Depp declared he would never work with Disney again - feeling that the franchise dumped him in a time of need.
