, motorists should expect lane and shoulder closures in the week ahead. However, no closures or restrictions are scheduled over the upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend.
The Arizona Department of Transportation urges motorists to slow down, be prepared to merge into the open lane and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the following lane and shoulder closures are in place:Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane from Cornville Road to Arena del Loma Road daily from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday morning, May 23, to Thursday afternoon, May 26.
The southbound I-17 left shoulder will be closed near Black Canyon City daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday morning, May 23, to Thursday afternoon, May 26, for geotechnical investigation. Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane near Black Canyon City overnight from 7 p.m. Monday, May 23, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, and from 7 p.m. Thursday, May 26, to 5 a.m. Friday, May 27, for geotechnical investigation.Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane from the runaway truck ramp to General Crook Trail daily from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday morning, May 23, to Thursday afternoon, May 26.
