With almost 8 miles of concrete trails and 5 miles of soft trails situated along Rowlett Creek, this 800-acre park is Plano’s largest. Residents and visitors can use the hike and bike trails everyday from sunrise to sunset. Those who don’t want to hike can fish or observe the wildlife and plant ecosystems that make the park special. The preserve also offers guided nature walks.
The Legacy Trail experience has grown in popularity in west Plano, Knox said. A great option for longer distance running and biking, the trail connects with the Preston Ridge Trail and the Bluebonnet Trail to combine for almost 15 miles of continuous trail. In addition to hard surface trails, this park boasts a fishing pier, pavilion, playground, restrooms and a sand volleyball court. Knox said the park provides an immersive experience with beautiful views.
