Prime Minister ScottMorrisonMP and Premier AnnastaciaMP have traded barbs on the Queensland campaign trail over the contentious border issue.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk have traded barbs on the Queensland campaign trail over the contentious border issue. Mr Morrison addressed border closures on Wednesday, saying “yes the border for a time has been able to afford some protection, particularly from Victoria , but it does come at a cost. I mean you can’t pretend that as well”.

Ms Palaszczuk, however, claimed both Ms Frecklington and the prime minister had “called for the border to open in Queensland, and Deb Frecklington 64 times, when it was not safe to do so”. The decision to open the state border to all of New South Wales will be made in the final week of the campaign, just ahead of the Palaszczuk government’s initial November 1 opening date.
