Prime Minister ScottMorrisonMP has committed an extra $2 billion in federal funding to the National Bushfire Recovery Agency.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has committed an extra $2 billion in federal funding to the National Bushfire Recovery Agency. The significant bolstering of disaster payments will see grants allocated over two years to help rebuild towns and farms. Mr Morrison said the fund will be topped up by the government if more funding is needed.

“We're not focused on the financial cost, we are focused on the human costs and ensuring we can do everything we can, as quickly as we can, to support that recovery effort," he said. In addition, the prime minister announced Cabinet on Monday resolved debt recovery and “mutual assistance” programs will be suspended in areas hit by the bushfires. Image: News Corp Australia
