The Prime Minister is resisting calls to take further action to address climate change as he apologises for taking a holiday during the bushfire crisis.
23/12/2019 Scott Morrison has defended his government's response to the bushfire crisis, emphasising the need for responsible action on climate change, but rejected suggestions higher climate targets would have prevented the extreme weather.
The prime minister praised the operation around the country and paid tribute to firefighters Geoff Keaton and Andrew O'Dwyer who died battling the blazes, in an op-ed in The Daily Telegraph.
