The reason behind Labor's refusal to give any real information about what a Voice to Parliament will look is simple - they know it might scare us, writes Caleb Bond.
None of this is planned or organised. Australians are being asked to sign a blank cheque for a Voice to Parliament that does not have any defined structure.I like the idea of going on holiday to Europe next month, but I might think twice about it when you tell me the travel package would have me in a roach motel every night.This is why we are being given as little information about the Voice as possible – it might scare us.
Thank God for Advance Australia, once of the leading organisations in the campaign against the Voice to Parliament, which this week produced a video explaining what the Voice is – in the words of one of its architects. He stood next to Albanese when he announced the referendum question and wrote The Voice to Parliament Handbook.
At an Invasion Day rally, he said “we need the power of the constitution behind us so we can organise like we've never organised before”.
