A week after being named one of the world's best beaches, a bay in Ireland got a visit from two enormous and undesired guests.
Beachgoers at Keem Bay were stunned at the emergence of two basking sharks just a few metres from the shoreline in the middle of July, 2021.The second-largest sharks in the world, basking sharks are harmless to humans, using their enormous mouths to feed on plankton.13 of 33And while the thought of a shark in the water might send many swimmers rushing back to shore, plenty of people were happy to stay in the water, albeit from some distance.
