A Pokemon fan artist showed their stunning rendering of Groudon, the ancient dinosaur Pokémon, in the style of the monstrous beasts from DarkSouls
An incredible piece of art has surfaced depicting Pokémon's Groudon as a Dark Souls-style boss. The many generations of Pokémon are filled with all manner of strangely imagined creatures, some designed to look more fearsome than others. When it comes to Dark Souls games, the majority of enemies and bosses are designed to look terrifying and dangerous, and most of them turn out to be just that.
While many Pokémon are comparable in size to real-life creatures, some are more reminiscent of dinosaurs such as the ground-type Pokémon Groudon. First introduced as a legendary Pokémon in Generation 3, Groudon is the game mascot for Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Omega Ruby. This ancient giant stands taller than most buildings and has huge claws and armor-like scales, so it's easy to see that Groudon would make a formidable boss battle in any game.
It's clear from the comments on the Reddit post that many gamers would love to see grittier versions of Pokémon in a game that plays more like Dark Souls and Elden Ring, unfortunately, it is very unlikely a collaboration like this would happen. As much as players may dream of facing off against Groudon one day, they will just have to accept that for now, it will only be in a Pokémon battle.
It's also nice to see so many people just appreciate the art for what it is, with many asking Sephilash if they were going to draw Kyogre or Rayquaza - the other Generation 3 legendary Pokémon, in the same style. A piece of art like this is no quick task, so nobody should expect to see them anytime soon, but hopefully, they both receive the same treatment as Groudon and are forever immortalized as the fearsome, dark fantasy beasts they could be in a game like Dark Souls.
