Police: 1 person dead, 4 injured in Garfield Park drive-by shooting
One person is dead and four others were injured following a drive-by shooting Sunday morning in Garfield Park.
Chicago police said the shooting happened at 2:07 a.m. in the 4000 block of West Washington Boulevard. Police said they responded to reports of a person shot but found multiple gunshot victims at the scene.A 40-year-old woman sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her body. Police said she was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A 38-year-old woman was shot in the buttocks and was transported to Stroger Hospital, where she was listed in fair condition. A 39-year-old man was shot in his arm and was also taken to Stroger in fair condition.The fourth victim, a 38-year-old man, sustained a gunshot wound to his thigh and was transported to Stroger in fair condition. A 42-year-old man was shot in his leg and foot and was taken to Mt. Sinai in fair condition.
One of the victims told officers that the person who fired shots traveled in a vehicle during the shooting, according to police.
