It’s an odd case of beheading a woodpecker sign.
A Pa. man is accused of beheading Woody Woodpecker. Well, they’re accused of taking the head off of a sign featuring a bird that bears a striking resemblance to the popular cartoon character, that is., a North Hills man is accused of decapitating the bird on custom-made sign at Woodpeckers Pub & Grub in Upper Burrell and driving off with it as a souvenir.
He currently awaits a preliminary hearing on Oct. 4 before Judge Cheryl Peck-Yakopec, according to the news site. According to the complaint, Hoch is seen leaving the bar alone at 1:55 a.m. on the video. Police said he is then seen stopping to tear the woodpecker’s head off its body, putting it in the trunk and driving off.
