Police are “reviewing” viral footage of a man who strangely bit a young boy’s ear on live TV.

Police are reviewing footage from a live television broadcast that appears to show a man biting the ear of a young boy that was standing near him.

During the BBC’s coverage of the World Snooker Championship this week the skin-crawling moment was caught on camera while seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry was speaking in a break in play. The grown man seemingly whispered into the kid’s ear before proceeding to nibble on his lobe at the event in Sheffield.

Seconds later, the youngster waved to the camera – capturing the attention of the adult – who then pulled a silly face.South Yorkshire Police has since confirmed they have been made aware of the footage and are “reviewing the content”. The force said: “Yesterday, Thursday 25 April at 9.20pm, we received a call to inform us of a video circulating on social media of a man and a boy at the Crucible in Sheffield.Fans on X were quick to comment on the disturbing video, which had amassed millions of views and nearly 70,000 likes by the weekend. One person wrote: “This is totally disgusting and he needs locking up for sure.
