The Metropolitan Police have taken a man into custody following Sunday's alleged incident.
A 42-year-old man has been arrested amid a police investigation into an alleged assault involving Manchester United great Roy Keane on Sunday.
Keane, 52, was at the Emirates Stadium covering the Premier League match between Arsenal and United for Sky Sports. Video footage circulating on social media appears to show fellow pundit and former Manchester City footballer Micah Richards restraining a male as Keane stood by.The Metropolitan Police said: “Police are investigating an incident at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 3 September, during which a man was assaulted.
The match finished 3-1 to Arsenal after late VAR controversy ruled out Alejandro Garnacho’s strike at 1-1 before the Gunners netted two in injury time to claim all three points. Marcus Rashford had given United the lead against the run of play before Martin Odegaard pinned the Reds back just 35 seconds later. Defeat leaves United 11th in the Premier League table having already been beaten twice in their opening four league games.
