Police arrest two in second Blockade Australia raid | ameliamcguiree
A First Nations elder has been arrested by NSW Police during a raid of a climate activist camp north-west of Sydney just days after another site used by the same group was stormed.
Dozens of police officers surrounded the site on Friday searching for individuals involved in Sunday’s clash with police at the group’s Putty campsite. “I can’t run, I can’t climb. All I do is stand on the group and teach my culture. Why are they doing this to us?” Aunty Caroline said on Friday. Seven individuals, all under 40 and from three eastern states, were charged with an array of offences and were refused bail before their appearance in Penrith Local Court on Monday.
