An under-13s rugby league game in Bankstown descended into an ugly brawl as players and adults threw punches at each other.

Police have launched an investigation into a brawl between players and spectators at an under-13s rugby league game on Saturday in south-west Sydney where one man was knocked to the ground and had his head stomped on.

Bankstown police were called to Ruse Park on Stacey Street in Bankstown at about midday following reports of a fight at a junior rugby league game. No serious injuries were reported to the police and when they arrived, the fighting had stopped and most of the crowd had left. Police have launched an investigation and urge anyone with footage of the fights to contact Bankstown Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
