Emergency services had attempted to stop a Ford Transit van at around 10am of August 19 in the Glasgow Road area of Wishaw. The vehicle was sought in connection with a number of road traffic offences.
The driver allegedly failed to stop the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene, reports the Record. Officers tracked down the motor to East Kilbride, with the male driver reportedly attempting to flee on foot before he was caught.A man has now been arrested and charged in connection with a number of offences and is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10am on Saturday, August 19, 2023, police attempted to stop a Ford Transit van in the Glasgow Road area of Wishaw, in connection with a number of road traffic offences.“The vehicle was traced a short time later in East Kilbride, where a short foot pursuit took place with the male driver.
"He was arrested and charged in connection with a number of offences, and is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, August 21, 2023.”
