The residential street became the focus of police activity after Hart Street knife attack
Police taped off a housing estate just 15 minutes from the scene of multiple stabbings at a 'children's dance class.' Merseyside Police were called to the stabbing attacks Hart Street in Southport at around 11.50pm on Monday, July 29.
Officers later cordoned off Old School Close in Banks, a 15-minute drive away from the scene. A cordon and multiple police officers remained on the residential street, which the Liverpool Echo understands is in connection with the earlier Hart Street stabbing. At least one person has been killed and eight injured after the brutal attack. Injured patients were rushed to multiple hospitals including Alder Hey Children's Hospital - which have since declared a 'major incident'.
A man was detained and a knife was seized by armed officers. A full statement from Merseyside Police read: "We can confirm that emergency services are in Southport following a major incident this morning, Monday 29 July.
