Police obtained a warrant for the man’s house after making the arrest.
MARTINEZ — Prosecutors in Contra Costa County have charged a 65-year-old Pleasant Hill man with five felonies for what authorities called the man’s attempt to meet an underaged boy for sex.
The charges came as the result of an investigation by Pleasant Hill police and the Contra Costa County Internet Crimes against Children task force during an proactive online investigation. According to Pleasant Hill police, the man engaged in an explicit online conversation and sent obscene materials Aug. 16 to an undercover agent posing as a 13-year-old boy on a social media/dating app. He also arranged to meet a person he believed to be a 13-year-old boy and was met by police upon arrival, authorities said.
Police then obtained a warrant to search the man’s residence and said they found child sexual abuse material on some of the man’s electronic devices.
