A young teenage girl has been targeted in the second frightening suspected abduction attempt involving a man and a white van in Melbourne in less than 10 days. Police say an unknown man driving a white van pulled up next to a 14-year-old girl walking on Spring St in Tullamarine about 5.45pm on Wednesday. The man asked the girl to get into his van but she refused and sought refuge at a nearby park.
“This afternoon a male in a white van has attempted to force a teenage girl into his van in the vicinity of the football club area,” it said. “Please be vigilant with your and your family’s safety in the area. Be on the lookout and, if you’ve seen something, say something.” The incident follows another child abduction attempt over the other side of the city in Blackburn last week. A white van pulled up next to an 11-year-old on Halley St about 3.
