About 9:30am on February 26, the owner of Lucky Stars Sanctuary found Usher the rooster and his flock of chickens dead in a coop, and reported the incident at Queanbeyan Police Station the following afternoon.In a social media post, the Lucky Stars Sanctuary said it was clear the attack was done by humans.
"We discovered their pen open and tragically, it became clear that their deaths were an act of human cruelty, not a natural predator attack."
