Police are appealing for public assistance following a series of fires in the Belmont area, near Geelong, earlier this month.
Victoria Police are appealing for public information following a series of arson attacks in Belmont, south of Geelong, on March 10.
Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released images of damage caused on March 10, when emergency services were called to five separate fires between 3.30am and 5.30am.A vacant supermarket on Belmont’s Stephen Street was set ablaze in one of the fires, causing moderate damage.Two tree fires occurred on residential nature strips on Jonhson Street, while the third and fourth were on Laura Avenue and Davis Street, respectively.
The investigation into the fires is ongoing with police hoping the images being released will prompt any members of the public who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area to come forward. Anyone who witnessed the incidents, has dashcam/CCTV footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at
