A man who allegedly performed a Nazi salute during a soccer match in Sydney has been charged by police.
On Tuesday, NSW Police released a statement that a 36-year-old man is alleged to have made the gesture during a match at Moore Park in April.
"Following extensive investigations, Surry Hills detectives arrested a 36-year-old man at Surry Hills Police Station on Monday 14 October 2024.NSW Police confirmed with ABC Sport the date was April 13.Football Australia announced after that match they were investigating a spectator who appeared to perform a Nazi salute during the A-League Men's derby clash between Western Sydney Wanderers and Sydney FC.
Initially, the man gave the middle finger toward the camera before quickly turning into an apparent salute.
