David Carrick: UK police must stop harbouring perpetrators to regain women’s trust, campaigners say
, which has been under mounting pressure over failures to tackle sexual abuse and misogyny within its ranks. A court earlier heard that before one alleged attack on a woman in September 2020, Carrick, from Stevenage in Hertfordshire, flashed his police warrant card to make the woman feel safe, bragged about guarding the prime minister, and said his work nickname was “bastard Dave”.
“I want an inquiry into every person on the Diplomatic Protection that called him Bastard Dave, that allowed this to happen.”
