Police officer attacked near Great Harwood library by drug user carrying large 'Gurkha style' knife
A drug user in possession of a large 'Gurkha style' knife has been arrested after attacking a police officer near to a library.
The force said an officer was assaulted as he tried to make off and during the struggle a second male tried to intervene. The first was arrested and found in possession of the large knife and a 'significant amount of cannabis'.He remains in custody for questioning as the investigation continues. No details have been released on the age of the males or the injuries suffered by the officer.
