A police officer has been struck by a car while working at a breath testing location in Bacchus Marsh. 7NEWS

As the driver of the ute was waved into a testing lane by the police officer, he allegedly suddenly accelerated.A Victoria Police officer has been struck by a car while the driver was allegedly tried to avoid a breath-testing site in Melbourne’s northwest.The ute then allegedly took off on the wrong side of the road, forcing multiple other vehicles to take evasive action to get out of the way.

A short time later, a member of the public called police to report a car had driven into a nearby paddock and became bogged. A 42-year-old Wyndham Vale man was arrested at the scene where it was discovered he was driving while disqualified.The man was charged with 17 offences including disqualified driving, drink-driving and endangering an emergency services worker with vehicle.Police are keen to speak to anyone who might have witnessed the incident or could have CCTV or dashcam footage.
