SUNDAY MAIL EXCLUSIVE: Caroline Muirhead was a key witness in the Tony Parsons death case and had complained about the way she was treated
Two police officers facing allegations of criminality in a murder probe have quit before watchdogs could probe complaints.
The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner has dropped three potentially criminal matters lodged by a witness in the Tony Parsons case. Caroline Muirhead said she was put at risk and her identity disclosed by officers after reporting fiance Sandy McKellar and twin Robert for the murder of cyclist Tony in 2020.
Last night, the forensic pathologist from Glasgow, said: “It feels like they’ve just waited until the trial is over, got the outcome that they wanted with the boys sentenced and the officers I’ve complained about get to walk off into the sunset with no punishment.” Sandy confessed to Caroline he had hit the 63-year-old with his car on the A82 between Bridge of Orchy and Tyndrum in Stirlingshire – on September 29, 2017, and he and his twin buried the body.
