A long 13 years after Madeleine McCann disappeared in Portugal, German police have opened a criminal case against a 43-year-old German child sex offender.
The suspect – who is already in German prison – is being named in the national media as ‘Christian B’.
Madeleine McCann's parents released a statement saying it was the most significant development in the case since their three-year-old daughter went missing.
