William Hughes lashed out at constables Greig Henning and Raheem Hussain in Glasgow on 29 and 30 October 2022.
Prosecutor Jessica McGowan said:"He pushed back at PC Henning who was standing in front of him then spat on his face." While in custody he told officers:"I'm going to take your eyes out, that's not a threat, that's a promise, I will kill the lot of you, your cards are marked, you won't make your next birthday."His handcuffs and spit hood were removed to de-escalate the situation.
