The man police say is the sole person of interest in a near-fatal shooting of a Gold Coast woman has been arrested in Victoria for unrelated weapons offences, including an alleged armed hold-up.

The man was taken into custody by Victorian police on January 12, four days after a double-barrel shotgun was fired into the back of 33-year-old Linley Anyos at Tallebudgera. The shotgun believed to have been used during the incident was later found in bushland, Gold Coast detectives say. "We were able to speak to him briefly, and we made some other inquires with other witnesses that were down there as well, that relate to our investigation," Detective Inspector Mooney said.Police to speak with victim
