Police say one of the largest seizures of heroin in WA's history has netted 77 kilograms of the drug contained in air cargo containers purporting to be industrial equipment.

Those crates were x-rayed and the contents, including a large industrial oven, were dismantled, revealing 222 packages of heroin, 132 inside one crate and 88 inside another. Officers patiently watched the property for seven days until two men arrived, entered the warehouse, and left carrying black duffel bags.Asian crime syndicate suspectedA fifth man, the owner of the business operating the Bibra Lake warehouse, was also arrested and charged with importing and attempting to traffic a commercial quantity of heroin.Three of the men live in WA and the other two had flown in from New South Wales.
Australian Federal Police Commander John Tanti said the fake heroin ruse was ultimately revealed before police could ascertain the drug's ultimate destination.
