After a year of investigations police track down the man alleged to have killed Shane Naylor in Sydney's west over what they believe was a dispute about jewellery and money.
A Queensland man has been charged with the murder of an acquaintance more than a year ago which police believe was motivated by jewellery and money.Police say the victim and alleged killer had a "common associate"Shane Naylor, 45, died on the night of January 7, 2022 at a house on Valeria Street, Toongabbie, in Sydney's west.After 12 months of extensive investigations, a 57-year-old man was arrested by Queensland homicide detectives in Brisbane yesterday.
Detective Acting Inspector Adam Wilson from the Blacktown Police Area Command said the accused was originally from Brisbane and had been living there for the last six months. He said police would allege the killing was motivated by a pre-existing dispute over jewellery and money. Detective Acting Inspector Wilson said police now wanted to encourage any witnesses who had previously been too fearful to come forward to share what they know.
