Protesters take to the streets of Akron following the death of 25-year-old Jayland Walker, whose body was found with more than 60 gunshot wounds.
Body-worn-camera footage has revealed eight US police officers were involved in a shooting that killed an unarmed black man as he fled during a traffic stop last week.He was unarmed and running away from police when he was shotPolice in Akron, Ohio, played multiple videos at a news conference about the incident, one of which they said showed a gun being fired from the car driven by Jayland Walker, 25.
Bobby DiCello, the lawyer for the Walker family, told reporters on Sunday he was "very concerned" about the police allegation Mr Walker had fired at officers from his car, and stressed there was no justification for his violent death."I ask you, as he's running away, what is reasonable? To gun him down? No, that's not reasonable.
Hundreds of demonstrators marched in the streets of the city of 200,000 people, waving Black Lives Matter flags and chanting, "We are done dying," and "Justice for Jayland". Akron Police Chief Stephen Mylett said the medical examiner was still determining how many of the 60 wounds were from where bullets entered, rather than left, his body.
