BREAKING: Police storm homes in morning raids in crackdown on 'rival gangs vying for control'

Nine men were arrested in police raids today as part of a crackdown into county line drug supply and gangs in Salford.

They will all be questioned on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, police said. Operation Display was launched to crackdown on drug-dealing in Salford, which police said 'often leads to acts of violence' including shootings and stabbings - and 'some fatalities' over the past few years.

Three of these are below the age of 17, police said. Detective Inspector Rebecca McGuigan, of GMP's Salford Challenger organised crime team, said: "The execution of these warrants this morning should serve as a warning to those engaging in criminal activities - we will come after you and as a force we remain committed to tackling serious and organised crime across Greater Manchester.
