Witnesses reported seeing a person 'lying in the road', but the nature of the incident remains unclear
Smithdown Road in Wavertree was closed off in both directions during the incident, which happened at around 5pm this afternoon. There was a large emergency services presence at the scene, including several police vehicles and an ambulance.
