Police swarmed the streets of Kersal and Lower Broughton on Sunday afternoon, making multiple arrests following reports of anti-social behaviour involving off-road bikes. Greater Manchester Police issued a statement on Sunday night announcing the increase in police activity in the area.
The number of arrests made has not yet been confirmed by police, but the force vowed to update local residents with any charges made relating to these incidents in the future. Anyone with concerns or information about the use of off-road bikes in the area is being urged to contact Greater Manchester Police as the crackdown continues.
"This was as a result of numerous reports of anti social behaviour on motorbikes/off road bikes. The coordinated response this evening worked brilliantly and numerous arrests have been made for a variety of offences such as dangerous driving, theft of motor vehicle, possession of drugs with intent to supply and public order.
