"It won't be a hard checkpoint where every single vehicle or passenger will be pulled over and asked but we will use technology.
Those already on holidays will be permitted to finish their breaks, but no new holidays will be permitted from 11.59pm on Wednesday. Mr Andrews indicated on Tuesday that EMV was working particularly closely on the crisis unfolding at nine public housing towers in inner Melbourne."They have a particular focus in relation to the towers and the massive task that's being delivered down there but their role is unchanged."
Fire Rescue Victoria assistant chief fire officer Darren Conlin said about 80 firefighters were assisting with logistics and distributing food to residents across nine public housing towers in North Melbourne and Flemington.
