Victoria Police have arrested and charged two men after unearthing almost a kilogram of methylamphetamine, a gun, ammunition, and other drugs in two homes in Melbourne's south-east.

He was subsequently arrested and searched, with police alleging he was found in possession of almost $25,000 in cash. As part of their search of the homes, officers proceeded to dig up part of one property's back garden, allegedly unearthing a handgun, steroids and ammunition all wrapped in plastic. Police also seized a quantity of cannabis, prescription poisons, mobile phones and electronic devices.
"From time to time, individuals bury items in an effort to conceal crimes, so for us, a lot of work has gone on behind the scenes into locating them," he said.Both men will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court in October. Picture: Victoria Police
