Former federal senator David Leyonhjelm has missed out on a seat in the NSW Parliament despite previously claiming to have won it.
The former Liberal Democrat senator claimed victory in the NSW election, even updating his Twitter profile to reflect the win.Mr Leynhjelm also announced his “win” on March 28 via Facebook, writing he was “pleased to announce” he had been elected to the NSW Parliament.
Mr Roberts will join former federal Labor leader and NSW One Nation leader Mark Latham at Macquarie Street when parliament resumes in May.The Liberal-National coalition government won eight of the 21 upper house seats up for grabs in the March 23 election while Labor snared seven.
