‘Politics and Economics’: Jim Chalmers has ‘difficult balancing act’ ahead of him
Treasurer Jim Chalmers says the budget is on track for another surplus.Sky News Political Correspondent Olivia Caisley says the Treasurer will say that the government “really wants to bank or save rather than spend any of the additional revenue they see flowing into the government coffers”.“He’ll say today that the $69 billion revenue windfall that was predicted in December … that’s going to be significantly downgraded.
“Jim Chalmers will also say that the main cost of living relief will be those changes to the stage three tax cuts.
