Labour's Tulip Siddiq has said there should be an independent panel to investigate allegations of harassment by MPs. "I don't care which party the MPs are from, there has to be an independent review, there has to be an independent panel that looks into this. "My other worry is what kind of message does that send out to the public that we are meant to be the authority that makes legislation?"
The Tory chairman said there was a"very, very strong case for the prime minister remaining in office" and that Mr Johnson would lead the party into the next general election. Last week the force said they would not issue any further updates on referrals for new fixed-penalty notices in relation to the partygate investigation before the vote next month.
A Tory MP who announced last month that he is trans has said he hopes to begin the process of transitioning"as quickly as possible" and hailed the"incredible amount of support" since he came out.
