Labour and the Conservatives engage in a war of words over migration; Patsy Stevenson and Dania Al-Obeid, who were arrested at a vigil for and have won payouts from the Met, speak to Sophy Ridge.
Tonight on the programme I want to talk about two women. They wanted to light a candle in honour of a murdered woman - Sarah Everard - killed by a serving police officer.
In a statement the Met said:"We are working every day to make London a city where women and girls can feel and be safe and where communities can have trust and confidence in their police service." Patsy Stevenson was handcuffed by officers on Clapham Common in March 2021 while COVID restrictions were in place.
Ms Stevenson said she did not believe that new Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley could be trusted to sort out the force."I think he's very good giving lip service. He's very good at talking about things that he wants to change, and you know he's going to do this and going to do that.Ms Al-Obeid shared how her experiences reminded of her own experience of domestic abuse, and how she felt minimised and silenced and blamed.
Organised jointly by Dogs Trust and The Kennel Club, Westminster Dog of the Year has been running since 1992 and is an opportunity for MPs to highlight the role dogs play in society.
